Etka and Vishesh wanted a fun lighthearted session, so we headed down to Wynwood in downtown Miami. It was a perfect setting for a photography session with many artistic and colorful murals. For anyone new to this area, Wynwood has over 70 galleries, cafes, design and antique stores and is abound with street art.
The murals at Wynwood are a breath of life for anyone walking by. And, they are always changing. There is no guarantee that what will be there one day will be there the next. By pure chance president JFK, was painted on one of the walls. We seized the opportunity to take a photo as they had both worked at JFK medical Center in Florida, knowing this chance may never present itself quite so perfectly again.
Vishesh loves basketball and it turns out that Etka is pretty good herself – considerably better than me!
The second location took us to Miami Beach which is predictably a good time!
One of my favorite creative shots was when Etka pulled the trigger of love and it sprayed little red hearts all over Vishesh’s body. I think that in an era when so many people lose their lives to guns, and there is so much global conflict, it really is a powerful statement. We all need love, and as corny as it sounds love conquers all.
Tips from my wife: The best time of day to have an engagement session in the summer months is in the morning and in the evening. It can be hot and uncomfortable at mid day, and ladies if you have make-up, you my find it is dripping down your face which is unpleasant to say the least! During the winter months you can get away with early afternoon photography sessions as it gets dark earlier and a nice breeze is usually present.
