15+ years of weddings have taught me a few things: light can make a photograph, timing can make a moment, and telling two people to “act natural” usually makes them do anything but.
So I stopped asking.
I photograph weddings with a cinematic sense of light and a slightly obsessive eye for the moments between the moments. I’ll give you direction when it helps, disappear when it doesn’t, and keep an eye out for everything that can’t be rehearsed—the look across the room, the nervous laugh, the chaos on the dance floor, and the little things you were too busy living to notice.
The goal isn’t to make your wedding look perfect. It’s to make you remember exactly what it felt like.
