Face Painting – Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne

Have I ever told you that I love my family?

To tell you the truth, I am really writing this for my daughter.  I hope that one day you will be able to retrieve this blog entry and it will leave you with a smile on your  face.  Many years from now you will be grown, bigger than you are now and beautiful. Your father and I will no longer be with you but these scant words will be.

You are a strong butterfly with deep convictions, passion and caringness. Your tender smiles and delightful giggles wake me up every morning. It has been unbelievable gift to watch you grow from your first moments in this world ; an alert set of eyes first peering out at us and the world, to your funny walk, and now your athletic  run.

Even at age three you are thoughtful and sensitive. Always protecting your sister, sharing your snacks and toys, and making her laugh with little tickles,  gentle chasing games and funny faces

Sometimes being a parent is really about letting our children teach us. You have taught me to be patient, to love fiercely and to be selfless.

Having you was the biggest blessing your father and I could ever have imagined.  Jasmine, you started our little family and now, with Layla, we are complete.

Right now you are only three, so the words which I write hold little meaning, but as I contemplate my love for you tears pour down my face.  I look forward to all of the years we will have together.  The adventures, moments, and memories.  You are my love, always.  Mom.
