Rabia’s Fantastic Two Day Orlando Wedding: “For the Mendhi I wanted to do something colorful because it’s such a lively event, but I still wanted it to have an overall theme, so I decided to go with peacock colors. I chose to have my Nikkah outdoors. I wanted it to look airy and romantic, and to fuse everything I love best about both Eastern and Western weddings, so I decided to wear white and base the theme around this color. For the wedding reception I went with soft colors, soft lighting, and an overall regal and romantic feeling. I am so incredibly thankful to my wonderful and talented team of vendors for making my wedding day perfect!”

For those who are not familiar with Muslim wedding tradition, the final day of the formal wedding celebration is marked by a dinner (walima) – the first formal event that the couple host as man and wife. The celebrations don’t quite end there – during the next week the couple will be taken out to dinner by various guests as a ‘present’…. remember the bride doesn’t do any work until the henna designs on her hands fade. It is a time to be remembered for the couple as they live the life of royalty and it provides a beautiful introduction to married life.
