SOME WEDDINGS
ARE QUIET…
THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THEM.

Gaylord Palms · Orlando, Florida

An Indian wedding with color, family, tradition, a little chaos — and two people who somehow managed to find each other in the middle of it all.

Handmade quilled paper tree with pink and red blossoms and a small illustrated couple beneath it

BEFORE EVERYONE ARRIVES,
THERE ARE THE DETAILS

Bride's henna-decorated hands with bangles above a round wooden tray holding a small photo and white petals

The jewelry.
The flowers.
The dress.

I photograph them before the day gets loud.
Because later, nobody remembers where the earrings were sitting.

Bride with a pink and white bouquet walks arm in arm with her father down the isle in an ivory sherwani and red scarf
Bride with hands pressed together and groom with eyes closed, both in white flower garlands, seated at the ceremony

THE DRESS DESERVED ITS OWN STORY.
And honestly, so did she. Indian weddings give a photographer an almost unfair amount to work with — incredible fabrics, jewelry, color, flowers, movement and tradition.

YOU THINK YOU’RE READY.
THEN THE DOORS OPEN

And suddenly it’s not about the flowers anymore.
It’s about the people.
The music.
The clothes.
The noise.
The hugs.
And that look between the two of you that says:
“Okay… this is actually happening.”

GAYLORD PALMS, ORLANDO.

A wedding this big needs a setting that can keep up.
From the architecture and gardens to the enormous spaces filled with family and friends, Gaylord Palms gives an Indian wedding a very different visual scale.
And then you put the bride and groom in the middle of it.
That’s when things get interesting.

TRADITION, WITHOUT PUTTING IT IN A BOX.

There is something incredibly beautiful about photographing Indian weddings because no two celebrations tell exactly the same story.
The traditions may be familiar.
The people never are.
That’s what I look for.
Not just what happened — but who was there when it happened.

Smiling woman with a red bindi and family members holding a thin thread between their hands during a ceremony ritual

THE DETAILS YOU WON’T WANT TO FORGET. Photographs are particularly good at remembering things we aren’t.
The hands.
The jewelry.
The flowers.
The expressions.

THEN EVERYTHING GOT QUIET.

For a few moments, the noise disappears.
The flowers stop moving.
Everyone takes their place.
And the two people who have been surrounded by hundreds of details all day suddenly become the only two people who matter.
This is where I step back.
Some moments don’t need direction.

Toddler in white sunglasses and a tan top stands among guests in pink and peach outfits
Groom in an ivory sherwani bends forward as water is poured from a small vessel into a metal bowl, with a man in a blue kurta beside him

YOU WERE THERE.
I WAS WATCHING.

I’ll take care of the photographs.
You take care of everything else.

YOU’LL FORGET THE TIMELINE.
YOU WON’T FORGET HOW IT FELT.

I’ll take care of the photographs.
You take care of everything else.

THIS IS THE PART PEOPLE DON’T PUT ON PINTEREST.
The family.
The friends.
The people dancing.
The people crying.
The people who have known you since you were five.

A WEDDING IS NEVER JUST TWO PEOPLE.

It’s everyone who came with them.
Some traveled across the country.
Some crossed an ocean.
Some probably crossed several family group chats just to get here.

WHY GAYLORD PALMS?

If you’re planning a large Indian wedding in the Orlando area, the venue matters.
A lot.

More than a wedding venue

You need somewhere beautiful enough for the photographs, large enough for the celebrations, comfortable enough for your guests — and flexible enough to handle everything an Indian wedding can throw at it.
That’s one of the reasons I like Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center.
And I’ll admit something right away:
I’m from Europe, so my standards for architecture are probably a little unfair. 🙂
Gaylord Palms isn’t Europe — nothing is going to replace walking through an old European city for me — but for Orlando, this is about as close as you’re going to get to that feeling.
The enormous atriums, gardens, bridges, courtyards and indoor landscapes give the resort a character that you simply don’t get from a conventional hotel ballroom.
And for an Indian wedding, that’s important.
You don’t have to create the entire atmosphere from scratch.
The venue already gives you something to work with.

WHEN YOUR WEDDING NEEDS ROOM TO BREATHE

What do you need for a large Indian wedding?
Room. And then a little more room.
Indian weddings can involve several different celebrations — from pre-wedding events and Sangeet to the ceremony and reception — and each one can have a completely different personality.
Gaylord Palms has large event spaces that can be transformed around the needs of the celebration.
Traditional ceremony setups.
Elaborate décor.
Large guest lists.
Music and entertainment.
And, of course, a dance floor that is going to get considerably more use than anyone originally planned.
The scale of the property makes it particularly interesting for couples who don’t want their wedding to feel squeezed into a standard hotel ballroom.

AND THEN THERE ARE THE PHOTOGRAPHS

This is the part I care about.
Because a beautiful wedding venue isn’t automatically a great photography venue.
Gaylord Palms gives you a lot of different environments to work with — the dramatic architecture, gardens, atriums, details, ceremony spaces and the couple themselves.
That means your gallery doesn’t have to look like 100 photographs taken in the same room.
We can make the photographs feel like different chapters of the same day.
And that’s exactly what I want.

FOR YOU — AND FOR EVERYONE YOU BROUGHT WITH YOU

When you’re inviting a large number of family members and friends, having everyone in one location makes life considerably easier.
Guests can stay at the resort, get ready there, attend the celebrations and retreat to their room when the dancing finally gets the better of them.
There are also restaurants, amenities and spaces throughout the resort, so guests aren’t simply arriving for the ceremony and disappearing afterward.
For a destination wedding in the Orlando area, that convenience matters.
