LIGHTING – IT’S EVERYTHING!
If there’s one thing that can make or break a wedding video, it’s lighting. Natural light is every videographer’s best friend. It’s soft, flattering, and gives everything that warm, dreamy glow around sunrise and sunset. If your venue has large windows, outdoor spaces, or lots of natural light flowing in, we’re going to be very happy.
But hey, not every part of your wedding will happen during the day or in bright spaces. So, we also look at how the venue handles evening lighting. Are there dimmable lights? Can we bring in extra lighting for those intimate nighttime moments? And if you’re going all out with uplighting or twinkle lights, that’s a bonus. We just want to make sure we can see all the action clearly without harsh shadows or dark or too bright spots!
DIMLY LIT VENUES? NOT ALWAYS A VIBE
Low lighting or dimly lit ballrooms might feel cozy and romantic in person, but for videographers, it can be a challenge. Sure, we have professional lighting equipment to help, but there’s nothing quite like good, clean, ambient light to create those cinematic moments. Dark spaces tend to create grainy footage, and while we can fix a lot in editing, it’s always better to start with well-lit scenes as you see in this wedding video we shot at the Omni Hotel in Orlando.
SPACE TO MOVE AND CAPTURE DIFFERENT ANGLES
Indian weddings are big, colorful, and full of life, with lots of moving parts. From the Baraat to the Vidai, there’s always something happening. We, Florida Indian wedding videographers, love venues that give us room to move around and capture the day from multiple angles without being in anyone’s way.
For example, during the wedding ceremony, it’s great when we have enough space to set up a couple of cameras to catch everything – the emotional glances, the rituals, and all the guest reactions. And for that amazing dance floor during the reception, a spacious ballroom is a dream. We want to make sure we capture all the high-energy moments (and epic dance moves) without feeling cramped. If you can, get a floor cover to hide all the blemishes of the dance floor. You will thank us!

SOUND AND ACOUSTICS – WE DON’T WANT TO MISS A WORD

If your wedding is outdoors, planes passing by above our heads can mess up our audio. Some venues are notorious for bad acoustics—like echoey ballrooms or noisy outdoor spaces near traffic—which can make it tricky to get clean audio. In this case, we usually, place a small microphone close to you or if a handheld microphone is being used, right on the handheld microphone. When we scout a venue, we’re thinking about where the microphones will go, how the sound will carry, and whether we need to bring in extra audio equipment. It’s not just about the visuals—we want your video to be immersive, so the sound needs to be on point.
FLEXIBILITY FOR SETUP AND CREATIVE SHOTS
Indian weddings are grand events, and they often include multiple ceremonies over several days. So, we love venues that are flexible and give us enough time to set up for different events. Whether it’s an intimate Mehndi function or a big reception, we need time and space to set up our equipment, test the lighting, and ensure everything’s perfect. Plus, we’re always thinking creatively—how can we get that epic shot of the groom arriving on a horse? Can we fly a drone while the groom sitting on an elephant? Or the bride’s dramatic entrance? We look for venues that allow us to move freely, set up drones (if allowed), and capture those jaw-dropping, cinematic moments.
SCENIC VIEWS AND UNIQUE FEATURES
Now, this is where we get to have some fun! We are Florida Indian wedding videographers and we naturally have scenic views in Florida – like beach fronts, mountains, or even stunning city scapes—can elevate your wedding video to a whole new level. If your venue has outdoor areas with beautiful views, we’ll definitely want to take advantage of them. There’s nothing like capturing a couple exchanging vows with a sunset backdrop or taking romantic shots by the water. Even unique indoor features, like grand staircases, chandeliers, or intricate architectural details, can make your wedding video stand out.
