Julia and Alex’s wedding vows is definitely one of the funniest I have ever heard. There are parts that I regret not having included in my wedding vows, especially my wife promising how to change a tire!
Here it is:
“What is marriage? Marriage is more than the exchange of rings and the sharing of a household; It is much more than just living together. It is the desire to truly want to know and understand another human being; to feel and share in that person’s happiness, as well as their pain. Marriage is to never feel alone; but rather, to know that you always have a friend; a partner in life that you can laugh and cry with. To know that you always have that special someone to share your innermost thoughts and fears, and know that you will be heard. Marriage is helping your partner to be the absolute best that they can be, while still being able to experience your own need and goals. Marriage is love; true love that goes far beyond passion; It is a love that you can reach for in times of crisis as well as joy, and know it will be there to comfort and to share. The true magic of love is not to avoid changes, but to follow the path together, hand in hand.
Groom
I, Alex, take you, Julia, to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, trusting what our future will bring to us. You are my best friend, the one I will live with, dream with, and love forever. I take you to be my wife. I will look with joy down the path of our tomorrows, knowing we will walk it together side by side, hand in hand, and heart to heart. I promise to love and cherish you. I promise to make your favorite fruit juices on Sundays and listen to all your weird music. I will love you always.
Bride
I, Julia, take you, Alex, to be my husband, knowing in my heart that you will be my constant friend, my faithful partner in life, and my one true love. Alex, I promise to be there when you need me, to fill your days with sunshine, to comfort you and encourage you, to help you reach your goals, to be your best friend ever, and to love you all my life. Today is the beginning of the rest of our lives. I choose to spend today, and all of my tomorrows, with you. I promise to share hopes, thoughts, and dreams as we build our lives together. I promise to learn how to change a tire and to learn how to program in HTML and will love you always.
Rings:
As I place this ring on your finger when you see it know that my love for you is endless and you will always be in my heart….”
Thanks Julia and Alex
