Mi a párommal, szeptemberben szeretnénk Miamiban házasságot kötni. Igazán semmi extra, mert barátunknál laknánk, az utazást mi szerveznénk. Amit szeretnénk, egy tengerparti, hivatalos esküvő és úgy 50 fotó. A virágot,ruhát, tortát és egyéb mellékes szépséget mi intéznénk magunknak. Esküvőszervező nem kellene, ahogy semmi más sem. Ebben tudsz e nekünk segíteni? Árban így mire lehet számolni? Milyen papírok kellenének itthonról ? Ott mit kell esküvő előtt és után tennünk? Esetleg van e egyéb ötleted, javaslatod ?!

Fórumoldalon keresztül találtunk rá oldaladra, s nagyon megtetszett a szervezés és a fotók. A következő kérdésekre szeretnénk választ kapni:
- Tanúkat kell e vinnünk, vagy ez kint is megoldható a segítségeddel?
- Milyen okmányokat kell feltétlenül kivinnünk magunkkal és kell e fordítani?
- Van e komplett esküvői csomag, amelyben a szállás és a szervezés együttesen szerepel?
- Az esküvő előtt hány nappal kellene kiutazni az egyeztetés miatt?

Mi 2011 májusában tervezünk kimenni és szeretnénk tengerparti esküvőt. Arra gondoltunk, hogy itthon hivatalossá tesszük, hogy elkerüljük a hivatalos procedúrát. Van lehetőség csak szimbólikus esküvőre? Ha csak hivatalos van, tanúkat kell vinni?

Sokat nézegettük a honlapot és nagyon tettszenek ezek az esküvők! Jó a helyszín és fantasztikusak a képek! Igaz, mi még csak távlatokban gondolkodunk felőle (kb. 2012 március/április), de érdekelnének az alap információk, árajánlatok. Amit biztosan szeretnénk, az a tengerparti esküvő megszervezése, fotózással és kb. kéthetes kinttartózkodással.

I have finished my new home made ringflash. I had one before which I ordered from a store for $200 (!!! a joke!) but I wasn’t impressed by the cheap plastic quality, the image results and the price. So it has returned to the store. Believe or not, my new DIY one feels much more…

Very clever.
I have two suggestions for improvement.
1) Reorient your light. Your ring light doesn’t light the ring evenly all the way around (neither do most of the commercial ones that are “fed” with a speedlight). In all your pictures, the light is mostly underneath the ring. That puts the bulk of the light slightly under the subject, and this is referred to as “sinister light”, for the unnatural look it gives your subjects. (In “real life” there’s almost always more light into the bottoms of eye sockets than into the tops, because the light comes from above).
2) Add a second light. Your reflector looks like it might do OK with two lights, one on each side. That should really even things out, and leave you with a light distribution that will look good if you go from horizontal to vertical.

Very nice and I agree with the previous comment regarding adding an extra light, you can buy some very small macro flashes on Ebay which would work a treat and are also very lightweight.

I have the same idea as Joseph S. Wisniewski, and I like to ask if you have done it? and whether you have pictures of this ring flash with double light.
I have one more question for all: If you could get this as kit, you only need the flash gun, would you buy it? and how much are you willing to pay and save yourselves all the work?

Thanks guys for all the feedback! I have built my new one. One flash on the top and one flash at the bottom. I have used it for several wedding photography sessions in Miami.
First off, thanks so much for the great tutorial. The quality of the light from your samples looks quite nice and soft. Your photos throughout this site are also quite nice, and I wouldn’t have discovered them if not for my DIY ring search, so thanks for those too.
I have a few questions that others might be interested in hearing as well. I would like to build a ring like yours to play around with. A one flash unit at first, then maybe a two flash version when I get the funds for a second flash.
I’d love to see your dual flash version, if you have the chance to post a couple of pics with it.
For the single flash version, what do you find is the best zoom setting for getting as even as possible a reflection into the ring, wide or zoomed?
And, how many stops of light would you estimate are lost through the ring itself?
In ref to the unevenness of the set up with a single light… do you think maybe just painting some really shinny silver or white on the top inside of the metal cover would help bounce light around a bit better?
the original metal is fairly dull it seems, maybe some white or silver paint on half of it would increase it’s reflectiveness and even out the overall spread of the light?

I am 50% Hungarian (quite the rarity in this day and age for a 6th-generation American to be 50% anything) and I am very much about preserving the traditions of my culture. This post is absolutely priceless to me, the kind of information one usually can’t get from browsing the internet. Wow.
